Commercial Information

Lighting Innovation and Design Inc. has made a concerted effort to establish a large offering of commercial products for both new and retrofit applications. Not only are these products CSA,UL or ETL rated but the vast majority are also DLC rated. This indicates that not only have the products passed rigorous testing to ensure quality and durability, but they are eligible for rebate programs. The available rebate programs can drastically reduce the cost of a project making the return on investment years faster and upfront cost far less.

The fact that a fixture is designed for rugged performance does not mean it has to look like a relic. It can look aesthetically pleasing and still perform to exacting standards. From the heat sink design, to the type of LED used and mounting bracket construction; commercial fixtures can appear sleek and modern.

Items that may initially appear small in nature are in fact extremely important; stainless steel screws and connectors prevent corrosion, rounded heat sink fins reduce the number of sharp surfaces and recessed hexagonal screws improve fixture appeal.

Increased Testing

The majority of the products we supply are subjected to an increased number of tests to better determine light performance and lifetime. In addition to basic certifications such as CSA,UL and ETL; many are DLC approved. An increasing number of the products are LM-79 and LM-80 certified to verify quality and lifetime claims. The more frequently a fixture is tested the more reliably the performance of that fixture can be predicted. All commercial fixtures are guaranteed by a 5 year warranty.

Increasingly advanced technology means the average lifespan of commercial fixture is growing well past the standard 50,000 hour standard. Many of the components used in an LED commercial fixture are constantly being improved upon resulting in improved performance and light output. One of these components includes the heat sink. Better heat dissipation means a longer lifespan. Not only are the materials in heat sinks being improved upon; but the shape, surface area and the method by which they dispel heat makes them much more efficient. Another important design component is the lensing of the fixture. Not only is there a growing choice of light beam patterns for various applications, but a better lens design to maximize light output and avoid glare wherever possible.
